12/11/2008 - Hotspex Holds Poll Position, Establishes London-based Team

London - December 11, 2008 - Marketing research firm Hotspex has held poll position on Surveypolice.com since September 2008, but has been in the top 3 since May and has established a new team in London to serve its existing and new European clients.

With an overall company rating of 93% (based on ratings within the last 365 days), Hotspex outperforms Greenfield Online, Ipsos i-Say, Harris Poll, E-Rewards, Ciao, Opinion Post and approximately 300 other survey websites. Survey-takers continuously evaluate survey companies on their propensity to recommend the company to a friend, ease of registration, website look and feel, customer service, incentives, survey experience and company legitimacy. Jacquie Smollett, Director of Panel for Hotspex comments: "It has taken a considerable effort to achieve the number one ranking and we are extremely proud to have earned our spurs with our panel members."

Hotspex is the only company in the top 5, of the Surveypolice rankings, that does not pay its survey-takers in cash. "Survey-takers can sometimes win cash by spinning a bonus wheel in our surveys, but we pay out in points that are not redeemable for cash," comments Smollett. "We want survey-taking to be a hobby and we want to reward people for their time, but we are not looking for people who want to supplement their income."

The firm's approach to rewarding panel members, or as they are called, Hotspex Innovators, is unique: survey-takers redeem their points, or Hotspex 'Bux', by exchanging them for points with their loyalty and travel programs through Points.com, music downloads, charity donations and chances to win prizes and, through its 'Take-a-Survey; Plant-a-Tree' program, Hotspex plants a tree in the Peruvian Amazon for every survey completed.

Paul Acerbi is leading Hotspex's European team and has relocated from Toronto where he was Vice President of Research at the firm's headquarters since 2006. Prior to joining Hotspex he was Vice President in Synovate's youth research department and Senior Research Director at Commins Wingrove, a research consultancy.

Last week in New York, Hotspex announced the appointment of Lisa Mannuza as Senior Vice President, fortifying the firm's US presence. Hotspex has experienced a growth rate of 1,614% over the past five years, placing the company at No.38 (and the only MR firm) in the "20th annual PROFIT 100 ranking of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies" by PROFIT Magazine in June 2008. This year, the firm has conducted research across 20 countries in all major languages.
